Lonely and Betrayed (GerBard)

A song about about old convictions…

I felt lonely and betrayed, even after I’d regained real consciousness;

kept thinkin’ I just wasn’t heard, although I had sincerely prayed;

listening at the altar to a word, that didn’t come from God.

So this was not enough, I still feel the anger and I’m about to get rough,

but if you are a Father, then why did you let me go astray?

So this was not enough, to get through to you,

but if you are a Father or is this not even true?

Although I had been thinkin’ in, found consciousness within,

my mind wants to hold on,

to views that have proved wrong…
